Title: help on playing "Londonderry Air" piece
Post by: sammie1981 on September 27, 2009, 08:14:13 PM
I am a beginner trying to learn how to play "LondonderryAir".  The version I have sounds very different from other ones I have heard.  This one, for example, does not sound like mine.  Unless I am playing the piece incorrectly.  My version comes from a beginners book for Adults.

Is there anyway I can find out how to play this piece on Youtube?

Thanks!

Oh man, i hate those string samples on keyboards, make me want to puke. They make everything sound terribly cheap.

Anyway, i remember i learned this piece/song when i was like 5 years old, its also known as 'O Danny boy', and i loved it because of its simplicity. I'd scan it if my scanner hadn't been broken down, maybe someone else here has a score for you.

It is funny you should bring the sound of keyboards up.  I am learning on a keyboard myself and find the sound of the song very different from grand pianos.  Perhaps this is one reason why I think it does not sound exactly the same as the ones I find online.

There are so many versions of 'O Danny Boy', it is hard to tell which one is good.  The one I have is C Major.
 Thanks!
