Title: From motorcycles to piano
Post by: iroveashe on November 30, 2009, 05:53:18 PM
A guy gets hit by a lightnig, has an out of body experience, later feels compelled to listen to piano music, buys a Chopin CD by Ashkenazy and starts taking piano lessons at 55 trying to reproduce a piece he heard in his dreams.

What does everyone think about it?

I think the electricity somehow alternated the wiring of his brain, ie. strengthened the connection btw piano music and the releases of pleasure chemicals in the brain; rare but not completely out of our world.

Interesting.  I saw that Sack tv special.  (There's a post about it somewhere.)  I remember this guy.  It's nice to see more than a five minute plug about it.  He split up with his wife over his piano playing, according to the Sacks program.

He doesn't seem to bend his fingers much.

Interesting. I saw the topic title and thought it was about Yamaha, though.
