Title: Similar training.
Post by: faa2010 on December 01, 2010, 02:01:39 PM
I have been playing piano since 2002, and I felt that I have improved comparing myself since the beginning.

However, I sometimes feel that I need more improvement and that I have to practice everyday for 1 hour at least.  I know that I am not a professional pianist and because of work and other activities for personal developement I don't have enough time, but sometimes I would like to have a similar training like them.

What would you recommend me to do?

The difference between them (Professionals) and you is simply the amount of practice of practice and what you do when you practice. I don't want to give the generic answer (Practice....a lot..) so I'll recommend getting a good well learned teacher (I hear they speed up the learning process exponentially...I wouldn't know; I'm self taught) so that you could have someone teach you how to learn pieces effectively and correctly. Also, always practice with a certain GOAL in mind.

Good luck  ;D
