Horrible colds, unrelenting barfing, absolutely NO sleep at night, while having deadlines, and have no physical and barely any mental strength to practice. How do you fellow professionals deal with sickness on the job?

Do small 15 minute intensely focused practice sessions, and do as many of them throughout the day as you need to. Exactly 15 minutes, no more, no less. The short time will force you to be efficient, and you'll only be able to work on small segments of music at a time, but it will add up. For these 15 minute sessions, I would pick the hardest parts to work on. That way they're already in your fingers by the time you start to get better and the easy stuff will just breeze right by.
Other than that, take your medicine, and try to rest.
