I'm somewhat concerned about this.
I'm 15, and my hands are certainly larger than most in my age group. I can span a 12th almost comfortably with my left. I am somewhat worried that my hands are going to grow to large to play.
I heard the practicing makes your fingers thinner, is this true? Right now I would say that I practice around 3-4 hours a day on weekdays and 5-6 hours a day on weekends (not straight through). Would this be enough to have any effect on my finger width?

No, I think the growth rate for males should slow down at 15 years. so don't worry. you know, sometimes a large hand span does help in playing other pieces. I think you are practicing enough for a day, whether you are amateur or professional.

Thank you so much for the insight! I think I was a little too worried about not being able to fit my fingers between black keys :).

No probs. Regardless of hand sizes and finger sizes, every pianist should be able to fit in the keys.
