A similar problem happened on my piano not long ago and my teacher advised me to spray something on it. Can't remember which, but it helped. Maybe consult your piano tuner/technician, tell him the problem and ask him whether to spray something over it. If he says yes then ask what to use. I just checked and I'm pretty sure it is a can of WD 40. If you can't find it, find something similar.

Never spray an acoustic/wooden piano with WD40 or similar. It will dissolve the glue, swell the wood, and on cheap plastic it can dissolve and soften the plastic as it is oil based.

I know the N3 is a digital, so it may be OK. Just don't want people taking WD40 to the action on their acoustics. Personally I would use Silicone grease/spray, as it shouldn't dissolve the plastic like WD40.

Roland use special white grease on their digital plastic parts that is safe on rubber/plastic. Roland charge quite a lot for the grease when post is added, so I use clear Silicone Grease, and silicone spray on the action of Digital pianos. Be warned though that the viscosity of the grease is significant for the keyboard.

Sorry. Probably I was mistaken then because I only half understood what Tony meant. Maybe he ought to be more specific. :-[ :'( But I definitely used wd40 to make the pedal easier to use and not as loose.
