Well, I REALLY like Led Zeppelin....

As far as I'm concerned, they gave some of the most powerful concerts I've ever heard, and a lot of them have quite bad quality.

haha yeah, but you have other songs like whole lotta love and no quarter, too.

I'm more of a floyd person, though.

I'm still quietly hoping to go to a gig one day and the band open with "the great gig in the sky" before being smothered by an entourage of improvised roar.

that would be amazing!

I always dreamt of seeing shine on you crazy diamond live, though.

Rick's synthesizers in that tune are amazing!

I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I really, reaaaaallllly like them. Not only do I love every bit of most of their songs, but they're one of the few bands that writes songs that sound good on nearly all of the instruments I play. Especially Dazed and Confused on guitar. I know that this is probably awful for my violin bow and strings, but it's soooooo much fun to play the bowed parts, haha.

Haha, that must be fun, wish i could play the guitar...

I don't know, i think the songs depends on my humour, but some I really like are The Rain Song, Thank You, Ten Years Gone, Going to California, That's the Way...

And the are all not in the heavy categorie....  ;D THough, I do get the guitar shop workers hating stairway... Still is one of the best song's i've heard IMHO.

Yeah, Stairway is an amazing song, annoying to guitar shop workers or no, it's an amazing tune.

And they're annoyed by the intro, not by the other minutes of the song

I go through periods of not listening to them for months, having one of their songs pop up on my iTunes randomly, me thinking, "OH MY GOD SO GOOD", to listening to every single song by them, to not listening to them for months...

it's a cycle that continues ad infinitum

I'm giving my age away here but I saw Floyd live at Wembley in the early 70's -also Led Zep a few times -Once in Earls Court and the other time in Cardiff -

My favourite live bands though were Sabbath and Deep Purple -I never saw Ian Gillian, but I did see them with David Coverdale -

Nothing really compares to the experience.

I have seen a few great pianists also -but it was far more of an intellectual experience. I saw Arrau play the Liszt sonata when he was around 80 -how he did that I will never know!
