Title: Beethoven - Hammerklavier
Post by: fnork on May 01, 2012, 03:17:16 PM
Another thing I dug up from old recordings recently - first movement only. I learned it in a rush as a part of a competition program last year - listening to it again the spirit seems to be there with some occasional mistakes. I have a different take on this elsewhere too, I might post it later.

You play at such a high level -I don't feel qualified to make a deep insightful comments-!  I just loved your second version -it had drive and passion and the melodic layers sparkled -superb.

For my money, the second version is vastly superior, and an exceptionally good performance.  I do hope you post the remaining movements.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I don´t have recordings of the other movements as for now - I did study the whole thing but never got around to perform more than this movement. Picking it up now again though, we´ll see when I have some material worth posting...

This sonata is so beautiful, reminds me of my father RIP. No constructive criticism possible, this is pro level playing I love it!

Thanks - it is indeed a very beautiful piece with one of the most moving slow movements I know. I´m in the process of preparing the whole thing so I´ll possibly post the other movements later on. Still some things to work on in the fugue though... :)
