Title: What are other good non-beginnerpieces that are very emotional and not too dull?

NOT atonal
like Scriabin op 8 no 12, Scriabin op 2 no 1, those emotional chopin etudes. pls give specific pieces that sound very emotional (and maybe flashy too)

The first one to come to mind is Szymanowski's op.4/3 etude:



There are literally hundreds that fit your criteria. I mention this one because Szymanowski was influenced by Scriabin who you mentioned.

i love that etude! i have a van cliburn album on the rca label of 'my favoirite' encores of nothing but encore works he loved to perform, this is among them and my favorite selection of the lot! so much of karol's music is so beautiful, sadly not enough players venture off the standard rep path to discover them....

I agree, he is a seriously underrated composer. I love this piece too though I think my favourites have to be the Masques, the Mythes (violin and piano) and the Metopes. I recently saw a live performance of a work of his for soprano, alto, bass, chorus and orchestra which was gorgeous but the name eludes me (I had gone for the rest of the items on the program and it came as a nice surprise!)
