This week my teacher assigned me Chopin's Andante Spianato. All went well, until I got to measure 11... How do I learn to play the quint 8th notes over the six 16th notes? I can play hands separate but can't seem to get the timing to play them so that they start and end together.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just finished learning this a few weeks ago after toying with it for YEARS! 6 against 5 isn't that difficult. The ones that follow are more problematic for beginners. Take the left hand and play it at a steady tempo 10 times in a row. It's best if you do this with a metronome. Then play the right hand 10 times in a row at the same speed of the metronome. Left hand 9 times, r.h. 9 times, l.h. 8 times, r.h. 8 times, etc. After you've finished the sequence down to one time each hand, together! It worked for me.
