Hi, I recently recorded eight of my pieces and I was wondering what you guys think of them.
I'm not classic trained, but I did study at the Amsterdam conservatory Pop department as a rapper, producer, composer and keyboard player.

Cool. Nice. I like the new age approach and idioms. Reminds of Einaudi's composition (not meant to be an insult!) As individual pieces, I like them. However, as a set, perhaps too many pieces in minor keys. When "Mutopia" no. 6 arrives, it brings a wisp of fresh air. Personally I enjoy no. 1 and 6 the most. No. 1 is perhaps the most "developed/varied."
Thanks for sharing!

you're welcome. Thnx for feedback. I hadn't consciously realized how Mutopia is in the Major key. I just replayed it and you're right, however the second part gets more gloomy and minorish when it goes to Fminor6 and then Abminor, Gminor, Dbminor.
I hadnt heard of Einaudi and just checked it out. There are indeed similarities. Gonna watch his entire concert later!

I actually really enjoyed that! :)
It reminded me of Yiruma who at which point was my favorite composer.
I have a lot of compositions and knowledge in this field (New age).
The only thing I can say it to expand on your ideas. Each piece has different contrasting ideas. As soon I got sunk into one, it had already finished which was a real shame.
There's a lot more you could have explored in each piece. The piece should be around 3-5 minutes long.
Either way, I loved all of them, well done.

Do you consider yourself a minimalist composer? Your piece reminds me of that style.
For instance, are you aware of Terry Riley's music?

I wish your piano was in tune, I would have enjoyed it more.
Keep composing. You are young.
