Title: Slippery fingers?
Post by: thesuperguy on January 30, 2014, 06:35:51 PM
I am preparing for a recital in a few months and I intend on playing fantasie impromptu. The problem is, just a week ago, I got a rash on my fingers and hand and now the skin is somewhat hardened and peeling. Another major problem is that I'm finding my fingers are much more slippery on the keys and it is difficult to get a grip. I am able to play the impromptu fairly well when I have a grip and by applying a bit of liquid to my fingers, I am able to achieve this grip, but right now, it is very difficult otherwise. Any tips?

Two suggestions:

A:
Try to perform the concert and completely botch it.

or

B:
Seek medical attention about this rash on your fingers.

You need to get medical attention regarding this rash/peeling skin. Hopefully they will be able to prescribe something to make it go away.

There is no other option.
