Thanks for any input on this.
The plan is to learn them all this year. I learnt a few last year but this year I've learnt op49#2 complete and the andante from Op79.
Here's a spotify play list if you don't know them all...and who would??

Hi Slane,
If any of them with your previous repertoire forms complete sonata, I would do that one. Otherwise, I would just do whichever one at the time is the most appealing.

start whith the first and end with the final! Voila! ;)

I think you should decide which movement you want to play. After all, you're you and I'm not you. :)
I think you should start with the first mov of Beethoven Op.14 No.1. It's one of my fav Beethoven sonatas (and E Major is one of my fav keys FYI) and it isn't that hard, compared to the other ones. It should give you a good start of Beethoven's easy-intermedaite sonatas, which basically means Grade 8. :/

Well I'm gonna go with the one I like best; op7. The down side of picking the ones I like best of course, is that I'm now working my way towards the ones I like least! Kevon... these are all grade 6 (AMEB) pieces so grade 8 .... not yet.
I failed dismally to master the 2nd the mov. of op14#1 so I will have to revisit that ... in about 4 years time :)

I tried Beethoven's Grand Sonata, and it's actually pretty hard. It's not like Hammerkaiver or Appastionata, but Op.7 is beyond Grade 6. If you're aiming for Grade 6, then you should go for Beethoven's harder Sonatinas or Chopin's easiest pieces. Remember, it's you decision, but I'm recommending these. And btw, it won't take you two years to master Op.14 No.1. And there's no slow movement in that Sonata, so if you're finding an Andante or an Adagio, good luck.

I learned all of Beethoven's Op. 14# sonata, except for those pesky thirds in the 1 st movement- it was satisfying to learn and complete the whole thingg

Oh actually it was the andante from op14#2 I failed at.
The allegretto from #1 I found pretty easy.
But there's no need to be rude.
