What, in your opinion, is the greater work and which do you enjoy listening to more- Liszt's Sonata in B minor or Schumann's Fantasy in C Major?
-
Damn that's a hard question.
I'd say the Liszt is deeper and more profound but the Schubert is more fun and invigorating.
I have listened to the Schubert more but have more respect for the Liszt.
I can't really say, but that's my assessment of the pieces.

He was referring to Schumann's Fantasy, which IMO compared to the sonata falls quite short. I don't hate it like many people here do (visitor, Thal, etc), but the Liszt sonata (which really isn't a sonata, just a theme cleverly stretched over half an hour) is of far more musical depth.

I prefer Schumanns fantasy to the Liszt Sonata , which I dont like at all.

Oops, my bad, all I saw was C Major Fantasy and a "Schu" So I assumed. Doh.
Anyway, in that case I'll go with the Liszt. I still like the Schumann though (don't hate me Thal)

I play the Liszt sonata and I know the Schumann Fantasie quite well.
Both great pieces and are highly contrasting, both present their individual difficulties.
Overall I'd say I prefer the Liszt sonata...probably because I know it much better
