When AJ Long, our resident composer aka ajlongspiano, asked me if I would consider playing some of his music I had no problem picking out this nice Sarcasm Melancholique which is the best piece I've yet heard from him. It was fun to play, though the somewhat irregular patterns make it harder than it sounds. I took some small liberties with the score, which I hope are all for the better. And if
not, well... just consider them my "interpretation" :)

Thanks so much for your wonderful playing of my composition, Chris!! I'm so happy with this.

Good to hear ! It is not perfect but I gave it my best shot.

Hi Chris,
This is a very fine upbeat piece of music, and your playing was excellent. And AJ is enthusiastic about the premier performance. I think it's a success in every way. Great!

Nice to hear a talented performance of a work by a talented young composer. I particularly like the mazurka-like idiomatic treatment you give to the rhythm, which really gives life to the piece.

Thanks ! I suppose it couldn't be helped, I have done a few Mazurkas in my time :D

Yes, you have. I don't know whether or not AJ was specifically thinking of the Mazurka, but he's obviously heavily influenced by Chopin (aren't we all!). :)
