Why would you make it a poll if you only wanted suggestions? This thread belongs in Repertoire by its very nature..

Okay, its updated!

Volodos?
Other than that, Michael Sayers, obviously ;D - if only he would accept his performances are really paraphrases and hyphenate his titles. Hehehe.

Hi ronde_des_sylphes, the Bach Prelude BWV 852 one actually is an arrangement by Liszt. ;)

I don't know Ronde.... I sure do enjoy your transcriptions... :)
and Michael... I like Mike--regardless -- he is very entertaining.. and I know you agree... be they transcriptions or paraphrases--NO ONE does them like the often imitated, rarely equaled, Michael Sayers... :) I am glad he's back...things were getting boring here.

I love Wild's take on Gershwin..
ps.. I just posted my first attempt at composing a paraphrase, so certainly I wouldn't presume to be in the running for 'the greatest' ;D

perhaps not by volume for transcriptions but Bizet's piano music is top notch. He did a solo transcription of Saint Saen's piano concerto no2, this recording is beastly. wow.

Is Bizet alive? (Oh and he also did transcription of Gounod's Ave Maria).
Anyways, how did you find that video? I was looking for a recording of the 1st movement recently (especially Petrov's recording) but I couldn't find it. In the times of khantallis, his (studio?) recording still was available on YT.

my bad, was in a hurry and failed to re read the 'living' part ha ha. oops. still glad i could highlight this awesome video. as for how i found, i don't remember i either directly searched it or i sometimes use 'related searches' then let the google/youtube coding-algorhythm suggest a list that likely has what i'm looking for then i pick it out. helps to use google translate and search in other languages as well, especially for finding updloads from other countries, very useful for czech, soviet, and japanese videos especially.
