Title: Chopin Mazurkas edition choice??
Post by: tinctoria88 on October 29, 2016, 03:18:26 AM
Has anyone compared editors of Chopin's Mazurkas?  I'm considering Polish National edition, edited by Jan Ekiar, Dover edited by Carl Mikuli, Kalmus edited by F. Liszt, and Henle edited by E. Zimmerman.  Does anyone favor one editor's presentation?

My preference would be to either the National Edition (Ekier) or the Paderewski.

The Ekier books I've used have had good binding sewn in signatures, quality paper, and crisp printing.  Read here first if you are interested in getting the set

I've got the Pderwsky edition and I'm quite happy with it
