Title: Paraphrases recital
Post by: ronde_des_sylphes on May 23, 2019, 10:15:15 AM
From a while back, I didn't realise I had the full thing on memory cards.

Not everything went to plan, but a lot of things did ;)

0.00 Martucci - Force of destiny
8.39 Liszt - Isolde's Liebestod
16.30 me - pastiche paraphrase after Don Pasquale
22.46 Thalberg - La traviata (this is insanely difficult in places and I wasn't fully up to the task; I've withdrawn it from my performance rep)
30.47 Thalberg - Casta diva
36.45 me - themes from Robert le Diable (also difficult, but it's easier to play your "own" difficulties!

Hope this is entertaining!

(edit - if this is blocked or ads appear in certain locations, I can only apologise: I'm having consistent problems with YT attribution of some of my recordings)

Well done!

I received my Wagner/Stradal vol 1 on Toccata label.  Here is an absolutely gorgeous arrangement of “Wintersturme wichen dem Wonnemond” (Spring Song from Act I, Scene 3 of Die Walküre).

In my mind I can hear you playing this at least as well as this guy and he sounds great!!!  It would be a fantastic recital piece and lasts only 4 minutes.  Take care!

Thank you, and nice to hear the rarity you've posted! I'll have to take a look at his other stuff and how it's laid out in the score.
