Title: Rachmaninoff Etude-Tableau op 39 no 8

I started working on this a few days ago and was wondering if anyone here has any advice on playing it. The double notes so far feel fine to me and I feel good about a lot of the phrasing and voicing aspects.

However one thing I really could use some insight on is how to pedal it. I can play very legato often but as you probably know if you've played it that it is impossible to connect everything. I think I have a good pedaling idea for the parts that have the main melody and where the structure of the measures is more clear. I am not as sure about what to do about the measures with more moving/modulating notes in both hands, such as measures 6 through 9 or the similar section that is before the first forte marking. Any help would be much appreciated.
 
Also FYI I have only tried to go up to the tempo pit vivo.

Half pedals, quarter pedals, frequent changes, frequent changes that do not completely renew the pedal etc is your friend. In some cases you may want to pedal on each 8th note if you are quick enough. I don't think there is an exact answer to how to pedal here, because it also depends on the instrument, acoustics, etc. But I'd experiment a lot with the above mentioned things. Could you ask a more specific question about pedalling here, like what options have you considered, what do you not like about what you've tried so far, and so on?
