Title: Price Range of Grand Pianos
Post by: pogouldiwitz on September 18, 2021, 12:24:18 PM
Hi,

I'm just curious, what are the price ranges of grand pianos in the "medium" size range (5'5" to 6'3") in USD, preferably? What kind of quality are we talking about in the various ranges?

Thank you.

I would suggest you absorb
https://www.pianobuyer.com/

Pianos are  rated by tier, average priced, brands are discussed.
Don’t miss the discussion of SMP vs MSRP for pricing
If you are interested in pre-owned pianos, there is discussion on depreciation

Price rangenon that size range could be from $3,000 to even up to $50,000 - $60,000.
There are many different facors that come in to play. Whether the piano is new or used, the brand, the condition. The question you are asking is a little vague.

I recently bought a used fully restored Mason and Hamlin model A(I think thats like 5 foot 8 inches) from the 90s for $8,000 USD! The reason it was so cheap was because it has some fairly large scratches on the top but that doesn't matter to me. It was a real steal. The piano is awesome!

See, there are a lot of factors that come into play, the model, brand, year of production, condition, and aesthetic.
