Title: Correct Fingering - Spirited Away Music
Post by: applelover on May 03, 2024, 03:34:30 PM
I have a question on the fingering here. I circled the places I was unsure about in green.

It seems like those notes "belong" to the left hand(?). But they drift up to where the right hand is and could be easier to play with the right hand. So my question is, on the places circled in green, is it better to play those with the right or the left hand? Or is it a personal preference thing and it doesn't matter?

I don't have much formal training so thank you for any guidance here.

A note written on the upper staff does not have to be played with the right hand. If it's easier to take it in the left, or if it sounds better that way, go for it. I'd be tempted to take the Db and Gb at the beginning of your green circle in the LH, and the rest of the circled notes in the right, including the Bb in the next measure. But just experiment and see what's comfortable.

When reading this treat all the downward stems as left hand and upwards stems the right. This should make the fingering more clear.
