Title: grades of pieces
Post by: chopin_ice on March 19, 2005, 12:32:35 AM
Hey, well, I'm new to the forum, but finding it really fun to browse through. Anyway, I was wondering about the grades of certain pieces...does anyone know approximately what grades each of these pieces are? (ABRSM)

-Fantaisie Impromptu (Chopin)
-Piano Sonata op.13 'Pathetique' 2nd movement (Beethoven)
-Valse op. 64-2 (Chopin)
-La Priere d'une Vierge/Maiden's Prayer (T. Badarzewska)
-Blumenlied (G.Lange)
-Barcarolle (Tchaikovsky)
-Fruhlingslied op.62-2 (mendelssohn)

It'd be very helpful if anyone has any ideas about these ...I'd be so grateful!

Thanks to whoever it was who went to all the trouble to type all this stuff in. But some of the grade levels look to be just temporary place fillers. All the Bach P&F at the same level? I don't think so. And the Beethoven sonatas are graded strictly by chronology.

You'd probably find threads about these pieces somewhere on the forum; All I can really say is that the Fantaisie-Impromptu is ALOT more difficult than the second Beethoven movement.
