Title: Where Next

Hey Everyone,
                      I've just done my grade 5 and got a distinction and want to know where to go next. I'm stopping lessons for a year until I get to university because I'm going 7A levels and also intend to do Grade 8 Theory and get Grade 8 on cello and clarinet.
    I wonder if you could suggest some pieces that I could try that would stretch me and help to push on my standard before I take up lessons again at university. Would any of the Chopin repertoire or perhaps a Beethoven Sonata be suitable?

Wow, grade 8 on Clarient and Cello and pushing forward with piano. Me thinks you are someone who loves to put waaaaay too much on their plate!

In that case, Do all 24 Chopin Etudes Op10 No1-12 and Op25 No1-12. Chopin etudes for piano are like like Paganini etudes for the Violin, very important works to develop the ability of all serious musicians.

well at least he's putting it off till after his 7!!!!!! A levels.  Man you must be some kind of genious, i mean i've heard of people doing 4 even 5 but 7 is rediculous, do you do anything besides work, cos fun is important too.

Chopin etudes are above grade 8: try something a little easier - u gotta be disciplined and work ur way up to the harder pieces.
