Title: Accompanist fees?
Post by: llhyperdude on June 11, 2005, 05:08:29 PM
Hello,
I am a student (age 18) who was recently asked to accompany a vocalist. I have accompanied this singer in the past for free (at a student concert), but this event isn't school related and with the relatively short notice (five days), I think it is appropriate to charge for my services. I would be playing 3 pieces, 2 of which I would see and rehearse the day of the event. What kind of fee would be acceptable?
Thanks,
llhyperdude

I usually charge about $10-15 per hour, including rehearsals and practice time, which usually alots to $75 or $100.

If they are somewhat simpler pieces. I know of people who charge 25 dollars per piece with a minimum of 50 bucks.
