i greatly appreciate the lack of pedal. adds a lot of character.

Thanks glad you liked it--I tried to avoid too much pedal to make it sound like a 'hybrid' of an 'exercise' and a piece of music. I also think it just sounds better, although I understand the reason people do use the pedal because of the legato phrase markings---
