I'm looking for some competitions here in California that I can enter.  I'm new to compeating and i don't want to travel to far yet, since im younger, im not yet 18.  If anyone knows of any, could you post them so I could get some info on them and go to them.  Thanks a lot everyone.

Ryan,

As I'm in a similar situation (I'm under 18 and living in CA), I've surfed around and found this site which lists and has links to quite a few piano competitions for youth  in California:

https://www.afn.org/~afn39483/piano/us/ca.html

Hope this helps.  And btw, if you have a piano instructor who's a member of MTAC (Music Teachers Association of California), there should be plenty of opportunities that your instructor can arrange for you to take advantage of.  You can look around at www.mtac.org

I also have trouble finding competitions in California for pianists under 18.  Here is one that takes place in February in the Bay Area: www.welcome.to/usomc
