The P&Fs and the Polka are the DSCH version; the preludes are the International Music Co version (as were the P&Fs I've lost  ) .

Poulenc Nocturnes are Heugel, Improvisations are Salabert (which I haven't encountered before), Suite and Impromptus are Chester.

Holllllllly cow you've been buying a lot lately! Good choices though. The couple things I have from Baerenreiter are great quality, probably my favorite publisher now. And Janacek is great, the sonata and In the Mists especially.

I wasn't aware IMC printed the P&Fs...did they stop? And jeeez DSCH is so expensive! Crazy.

DSCH is expensive, and tbh not all that great in terms of quality. If got the two Shostakovich Sonatas from them and they are just adequate.

Don't know if IMC still do the P&Fs, couldn't see them anywhere. The ones I lost are older than you so they may have stopped.

Haha, I'm in the pink. (actually, the Barenreiter was slightly cheaper, I think, and I've dealt with the supplier before with no problems (save as below))

on the leroy anderson ,it was an impulse buy, 1 dollar , i had some change in my pocket. wasn't even familar with the work at all, just the composer, which i like.
no solo performances on yt that i can see right now, but there are some two piano duet versions, this one is pretty cool

For some reason I have never been interested in him... Can't really say I don't like him, just never bothered to find out...

I could of course print out sheets even for free, but I am so totally disorganized with sheets, I much prefer books. Self binding sucks too because you cannot really stack them...And I don't mind having different versions, with my memory I can take a sonata that I already played from another book and think it's a new one 

Might still get the cd though, thanks for the tip!

I'm assuming i'll reach a point where I think its time to curl up and cry at least 12 times. I have a relatively long history of safely navigating and persevering with things that are too hard for me though.

Make sure to learn his sonatas as well otherwise you risk the chance of not fatally injuring your hand.

Haha, I cry atleast once a week when I am learning long, brutal pieces. But from what I head from your (1) Chopin etu de you can make arpeggios happen, so go for it!

lol ..chopin 10/1..   2 minute arpeggio study..  the usual prerequisite for a 40 minute elephant concerto.

I don't really expect it'll make me cry, my usual response is more of increased motivation than a sense of defeat. I actually feel like most frustrating thing will be in relation to maintaining appropriate tempo so that I can stick with the orchestra recording after the piano only stretches..   limits interpretive variation in the cadenza spots.

i did see used copy of the rhapsody i just started for sale in the uk but it was prohibitively expensive (his works in general are very pricey, worth it imho in the long run i just couldn't swing it financially so I had to settle for the scan from your national library's angew archive).

Not strictly "chamber" ensembles..

I've played in a wide variety of ensembles though..  from rock bands, to jazz trios, to big bands, concert bands, in the orchestra pits for theater shows, as an accompanist for choirs and other soloists, classical guitar ensembles..  i was also the percussionist in a full symphony orchestra for a bit (a local amateur one)

They were a bit pricey, but the only local copies I could find "might" have actually existed, were a signed limited edition of the Sitsky edition of the complete sonatas and had a price of "POA". I didn't.  

These were about 20 quid each, so not exactly cheap, but certainly more reasonable.

Agnew did a complete recording of all his piano works in 1943 for the ABC. If it's from then (and has dodgy sound quality to boot) it's probably him.

lol there was certainly a few aural issues at times playing with an amateur orchestra, with new works..  you couldn't always rely on everyone to practice, so sometimes it took a few weeks for things to settle in. It was always fun though, it was like once a week rehearsals and everyone would go out for drinks afterward.

I also liked how you could put your name forward to conduct..
