Guastavino: Las Niñas de Santa Fe (for two Pianos)
on: December 23, 2020, 10:51:23 AM
Hey everybody! Have you ever heard of Carlos Guastavino? He was a composer born in Argentina, contemporary of Ginastera, and at the same time a harsh critic of his and the (by then already) rising trend of the "New Music". He refused to follow the new thinking of the era, and instead stuck to his principles and style of composing music for the sake of beauty above all else.

Here's a Piano Duo piece by him, called "Las Niñas de Santa Fe" (The little girls from Santa Fe). In our (Jorge Caro & Lisa Schmäling) interpretation.

Hope you enjoy :) !

Duo Caro-Schmäling

Learning
-Mozart k.311.
-Bach P&F 17 BWV 862.
-Prokofiev Romeo & Juliet suite(complete).
-Chopin 4 ballades.
-Chopin Grande Valse Brillante op.18

Very well played and recorded.  Thanks for sharing.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
