Liszt edition
on: May 21, 2026, 08:23:42 PM
Hello everyone, I would like to know if the Chinese version of EMB Liszt works is the same as the “standard one”
I understood that the EMB is the best edition for Liszt but is too expensive for me and there are too many books. And then I saw the Chinese edition of Liszt by the same house edition and I eant to know if this could be a good option/alternative.
Thanks

AFAIK, EMB partnered with the Shanghai Music Publishing House (SMPH) to release translated and localized editions of NLA in China. Scores should be identical, while commentaries and editorials are translated.
Therefore, if buy it from a legitimate store, you are good. Please note that SMPH paper and spine/binding quality is not as good as EMB or other top publishers. Thin and wears fast.
