Hello everyone,

I am an adult piano returner who is currently preparing the grade 5 performance exam.

I don't have a teacher and I am struggling to understand how to use the pedal in bars 31-38 (see attachment).

Can anybody help please? Sorry for the basic question but my use of pedal is entirely self-taught (I seemed to get it right in previous exams).

I would just not pedal it or pedal on beats 1 and 2 for your purposes. It is a good opportunity to listen to which you prefer.

Thank you for your reply. There are no instructions in the piece except at the beginning where it says "with pedal". I did not consider not using it at all in those bars! I will experiment a bit with it then and try your suggestion :)
