I never thought about that before, but it's so true! There's always that one guy who's trying to prove something.
One time a guy next to me at a concert was clapping in 2 against 3 with my claps, treating my claps as eighth notes against his triplets. I really thought he was doing it on purpose, based on his look of concentration, but I didn't say anything. How do you bring something like that up?

Wonder if that was me? ;D I do that occassionally ;D But I don't concentrate when I do it, it's not particularly hard to do.

Is there any other comedies about classical music to watch?

Thanks I enjoyed them both, Dudley Moore is cool! :D really funny! lol
The you tube comment one was good too, but got slightly boring towards the end IMO.
I like that soft toy of Beethoven that guy had...I want one now! ;D
-
Brilliant! and so true ;D Andras Schiff mentions this exact situations in one of his Beethoven Sonatas' masterclasses.
Personally, I hate when people clap, I know it's a way to thank the performers and all but I think there should be at least a small moment of silence and rest after a piece finishes. I'd join the GPAADAK if I could.
Ps. Is that the Fonejacker in the video? :o
Pps. The YouTube comments video is great too. I always wondered how the mind of the average YouTuber works, do they actually think Martha Argerich, for example, has an anonymous account where she uploads her performances and then checks every comment and goes "Hmm, ISmellLikePuppies168 says I should play it faster. How didn't I think of that before?"
Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing more like these.

I have enjoyed all. ;D
Thanks peeps. 8)

I think people should chit chat like they used to in the good old days. pre 1800

I LOVE Handel's Messiah. It is one of those great works I never get bored with, even if it's been in my cd player for 6 months. Anyway, I went to a live performance the other night and was disappointed with my favorite tenor aria "Every Valley Shall be Exalted." So onto Youtube went I.... and THIS was the first thing that popped up after searching:
I guess it made the mediocre tenor from the night before sound way better in comparison. Although his choice in hairstyle, clothes, and body language wasn't nearly as exciting to watch as this youtube video.

Horrible!! I want to die now.

Ha! I know them. The female of the duo is a friend of a friend. They're both actually Juilliard pianists.

"The Drummer in Ravel's Bolero"

What on earth is the woman next to him meant to be doing at about 4.40? She's not conducting and she's not hitting any instrument!

I think she's an actress pretending to play the drums.
Or she's drunk and enjoying the music.

She's playing the timpani. You can hear it in there. It's one way to stay better in time, to move like that. A lot more obvious up close though. A bit distracting.
What about that snare drummer though? He looks bored (which makes sense with that piece, but if you're performing, come on). Rolling his eyes? I was waiting for him to check his watch if he could. He looks like he's waiting for a bus or taking a leak. Haha.
Hey! My me-me's... There's got to be a nice quiet moment or an intercom somewhere for that audio. :)
