I'm not Thal, but that was wonderful.  Thank you very much.

Two prezzies for me by two great pianists in one day. I am a lucky bugger.

I like your pace in this much more than Moiseivitch. I always thought he took it too fast, but he might have been trying to fit it on a 10 inch disk.

This has always been my favourite transcription and your recording simply re asserts this. Your trill work is bleedin stunning.

Apart from Petronel Malan who is hopefully going to record the Tausig/Beethoven transcriptions and Artur Cimirro who is hopefully going to record the whole lot, there does not appear to be a great deal of pianists playing Tausig.

Perhaps for the modern generation, music has to be 5 hours long and written on 19 staves to be considered worthy.

I do not remember any recording being downloaded 22 times on the same day before.

There must be a lot of Tausig fans here ;D

Something Thal has been asking for awhile.
Live from Russia 10/26/2007. First experience with the piece on stage.

I've no words..... A live recording, with the same amazing control of a studio
(and "helped") recording, and a so artistic sense of sound and phrasing......
Amazing pianist.

I can't believe I failed to comment on this first time round. I'd like to say that this is my favourite recording of the year, and I don't just mean favourite pianostreet recording. Class playing throughout, simply awesome.

How can I adequately demonstrate a standing ovation in this post?   :D

This is one of those pieces which grabs you even when you are not paying attention.
I heard this once before on the radio (NPR) and was mezmorized with it once before, but did not catch the name or the composer.  Thank you!
I am no longer fighting my inner demons.  We are now all on the same side.

I missed this on first posting, so I'm glad ronde brought it up again. It is absolutely spectacular pianism. So beautiful in the slower passages, sparkling virtuosity in the others. Oh, and those wonderful, living trills!! Thanks so much for sharing, marik.

I love Marik's playing.

Wish he would post his Wanderer Fantasy.

Btw, it's worth pointing out that it was my birthday a couple weeks ago. *hint hint*
