6 months later I will alter this...Still some consistencies, but differences too.

Liszt Sonata in B Minor
Beethoven Sonata Op 57 'Appassionata'
Chopin Ballade 4
Liszt/Busoni Fantasy and Fugue on Ad Nos Salutarem Undam
Liszt Pensees des Morts
Liszt Aux cyprès de la Villa d'Este (Both)
Liszt Ballade 2
Liszt Tarentella (Venezia e Napoli)
Beethoven Sonata Op 27 no 2 'Moonlight' (Forgive me, but the famous first movement is what it is, and the finale is just remarkable).
Schubert Impromptu Op 90 no 4.
Concerto: Rach 3

Again, tomorrow it will be different...however Rach 3 tends to remain a constant, same with the Liszt sonata, Appasionata, and Chopins 4th Ballade.

(I just noticed I greatly prefer the minor keys, lol. Like 95% of the works on both Liszts are in minor keys).

And now a year later  ;D

1. Liszt - Piano Sonata.
2. Liszt - Variations on Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen.
3. Beethoven - Piano Sonata Op. 109.
4. Beethoven - Piano Sonata Op. 57.
5. Schumann - Fantasy Op. 17.
6. Chopin - Etudes Op. 25.
7. Liszt - Ballade No. 2.
8. Chopin - Ballade No. 4.
9. Liszt - Années de pèlerinage. Première année: Suisse.
10. Schumann - Symphonic Etudes Op. 13.

Concerto: Rachmaninoff  - Piano Concerto No. 3.

Will be very different tomorrow, although as you can see there are some that remained, and the Liszt B Minor Sonata is still my very favourite.

The Waldstein is Op. 53. Beethoven wrote 32 piano sonatas, of which the Waldstein is the twenty-first, but its opus number is fifty-three.

In no particular order:

Beethoven Sonatas,
op.57 "Apassionata"
op.13" "Pathetique"
op.27 no.2 "Moonlight" (dumb name for the third mvmt ::))
op.53 "Waldstein"
op.106 "Hammerklavier"

You can see I'm a Big B fan.
Chopin
 Ballade no.1
 Sonata no.2
Alkan Symphony for solo piano
Rachmaninoff Sonata  no.1
Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No.2
Spanish Rhapsody

I've stopped at just 5 Beethoven sonatas :D , and have only included large scale works, so no Chopin Etudes and Nocturnes.(making a confession, I enjoy listening to the Fantaisie- Impromptu and (the horror) Fur Elise.)

I really like Rachmaninoff's second concerto, but for this I'll go for Brahms Concerto No.1 in D minor. It's not rated very highly(The crowd booed after the premiere) but I find it a grand , powerful work , my favourite Brahms.

Here goes, in no particular order:

Beethoven Sonata op 110
Scriabin Black Mass
Chopin Andante spianato et Grande Polonaise Brillante
Chopin Sonata no 3
Brahms Sonata no 2
Liszt Don Juan Fantasy
Rachmaninoff Sonata no 2
Prokofiev Sonata no 7
Prokofiev Sonata no 4
Beethoven Appasionata
Chopin Ballade no 4
Prokofiev Concerto no 2.........or Rachmaninoff Concerto no 3..............I hate this question...

I also wanted to throw in Scriabin Sonata 2, but I already had way too many sonatas.  This question is so hard, and my answers definitely depend on my mood.

In my opinion it depends who plays what...

Some of my favourites are:

My favourite Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 2 is played by Peter Katin with the New Symphony Orchestra conducted by Colin Davis...
and Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 1 is also played by Peter Katin  with the London Philharmonic Orchestra with Sir Adrian Boult conducting in 1971...
...and the most inspiring Chopin Piano Concerto No.2 was played by Malcuzynski in1960 with Walter Susskind conducting the London Symphony Orchestra...
One of my favourite harpsichord players was Rafael Puyana and my absolute favourite keyboard specialist of old and ancient music pieces always was and still is Thurston Dart... His collection of Early English Keyboard Music is second to none...

These musicians are most inspiring and fortunately their records and LP's can still be enjoyed...
Bach was no pioneer; his style was not influenced by any past or contemporary century.
He was completion and fulfillment in itself, like a meteor which follows its own path.
