A Mozart duel
«
on:
November 09, 2007, 06:20:46 AM »
This is strictly for fun considering I will probably have to learn whichever movement is selected from scratch - so hardcores...off with you.
I would like to challenge someone to a duel - any movement from a Mozart sonata of your choice. This should be fun... * twiddles thumbs
P.S. We will discuss the timeframe when the movement is selected - but no more than 3 weeks.

just a question, haven't you learnt the 1st movement of K545 before? It would be strange if you haven't because it's played commonly

Ahhhh!!! So many duels! OK...so K 545 first mvmt. (because u replied first) - then we'll see about the others...although I'm leaning toward the Bb major sonata because too much C major makes me go crazy!!!

Ok! Pianogeek, I'll go now and attempt the K330, 1st mvt. I'll give you 24 hours to do the same!
K545 for next sunday.
K333 in three weeks.

Daniel, mcgill, I've set the date for K333 for myself for roughly Dec 15, if you don't mind... I think I'll need that fourth week for the top-notch polishing, so as to present something I can really be satisfied with.
K330. 24 hours. 8 PM (my time, CET) tomorrow. Okay. Mind you, I -have- played that one. It's a matter of revision after... four months of not touching it.
Getting the recording equipment going may, however, take some more time (not that I'd be using that for some more practice, bah), so the recording itself should be ready in about two to three days. Hopefully.
This should be fun!

K310, the sonata in a minor, is kind of fun...just an afterthought

Well, to get these duels started, here's the first one out. K330 first movement, recorded yesterday. K545 on sunday, right?
Or should the posts be in the audition room?
EDIT - recording moved to audition room

Maybe that's a good idea re: the audition room - I have a feeling the posts with files attached will be moved anyway.
btw - really nice job on the Mozart! I suppose the specific comments should wait until the other competitor has posted.

Thanks! It was fun with the extremely short prep time, no time to think things over twice!
But I've played it before of course...
Well, I posted in audition room instead.

I'm going to have to withdraw, too much chemistry revision to learn a new piece.

Unfortunately, my recording method is misbehaving at the point of importing the file to the computer. Something is very wrong and I have no idea whatsoever what it is. Will try to fix it ASAP, but I fear it may include new recording equipment.

How do you mean? What did you record on and what sort of input does your computer have?
