has anyone heard of this pianist? I have her playing the inventions and sinfonias and she sounds quite good. Curious if you know anything about her.

The only thing I heard say about her, is that she was into some really old stuff. That means Sweelinck, Byrd and music like that. But I never heard any of her recordings; to be honoust, I wasn't even sure that it was a  :-*"she"!

I hear that her mozart is phenomenal. Stravinsky and some other prominent composers adored her playing. She was selected to premiere most of their pieces.

Again, I'm not 100 % sure, but I believe she was French.

I think she was french. I am having the hardest time finding anything on her on the web. I found that she played with accompanied satie on a couple of occassions. She was a good friend of the Les Six. That is it so far.

Yes, she was French indeed!  She is famous for 'resurrecting' a lot of the harpsichord repertoire (mainly Couperin, Scarlatti and Rameau-she recorded the complete Rameau)suites and those recordings are sublime!  She used to mix a lot of Baroque music and then 20th-century French composers in her programme.  She recorded all Ravel's, Debussy's, Chabrier's works.  But most of those have long been out of print.  They used to be available under 'Les Introuvables de Marcelle Meyer'.  There are 3 sets of about 4/5 discs each.  If you ever stumble upon any of them, don't hesitate to buy them.  Truly marvellous stuff!

I saw a set of them on the internet earlier today. cost was 300 euros. way out of my league.
