As part of the 2008 UNCG Focus on Piano Literature, a series of lectures and recitals presented by faculty members, doctoral students, and special guests. The theme this year will be "Paris in the 1920s". This will take place June 5-7. Many pianists, teachers, and students from all over the world attend this event that has taken place at UNCG every two years since 1990.  John Salmon founded and coordinated this symposium until 2002, when he handed the responsibility to his colleague, Andrew Willis.

The special guests at the most recent Focus were Vladimir Viardo and Donald Manildi and the theme was "Russian Romantics".
