Wagner’s Universe in a Pianist’s Hands

One of the most thrilling performances offered at Cremona Musica this year was the Wagner by Liszt recital given by Filippo Tenisci – Italian pianist, born 1998 and celebrated for his refined interpretations and expressive mastery of the Romantic repertoire. After his recital we got the chance talking to Tenici about his Wagner/Liszt project. Read more

I played a Fisk Organ
on: November 03, 2004, 02:18:51 PM
Just wanted to share... My teacher let me play the Bach Invention #1 on "his little toy" (this C.B. Fisk Organ inside the church he works at.. that link is the actual one, here in Rochester).. I'm not religous or anything, but wow.. I thought I was going to blow all the stained glass windows out of the place! Very cool thing :) He's like "so this might give you an idea of what Bach was thinking "
 ;)
one of the settings, I played the left most foot pedal, it was like the deepest subwoofer I've ever heard!

fun fun fun!

Wow! That's awesome, man. I vow that I will play Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor on an organ some day.  :P

Of course that's what I was picturing myself doing  :o

The action on these beasts is so strange, the keys feel completely different, there's like a "click through" point at which the pipes are open.. The way you articulate is completely different than on a piano..
