Mic Test - Chopin Ballade 1 (coda)

Testing my brand spanking new mic

(don't flame the coda - especially the really strange beginning... i think i must have dozed off)

procedure:

1) analog record onto SHARP MD recorder.
2) analog record from MD onto LAPTOP using SOUND RECORDER
3) no edits

very dry... lacking in dynamic range i think.

It sounds like an airplain that is just about to crash and burn. Only joking it sounds like with more work and time it will be perfect.

What mic are you using?  It sounds a bit shrill.  Perhaps you just need better mic placement?

You mean a better mic replacement.... 

No, it's quite good, but i prefered the mic used for your Debussy better.

Very good playing though. Reminds me of Cortot.... *the added harmony*

irony is, i was showing it off to my sis (hey i spent money on this) and she says "i have a better one... i'm not using it so you want it?"

Well that's your problem right there:

Frequency Response: 100 to 15,000 Hz

That means that the microphone is not picking up any bass frequencies starting like an octave or so below middle C. 

I think I'd take your sis up on her offer if I were you.
