Piano Street Magazine:
How Many Hours Should You Practice the Piano? – The Lines Between Science, Method and Passion

It is a timeless question, a persistent voice in the mind of every pianist: “How many hours must I practice to truly improve?” It springs from a perfectly legitimate desire to measure the commitment required to transform our ambitions into sound, whether that means playing a simple minuet or dreaming of the world’s most prestigious stages. Giulio Cinelli from Pianosolo.it guides us through this classic topic. Read more

I was just wondering if there was anything more to be gained from this site, any other ways to use it...

There are...
- discussions, the normal threads
- weekly chats, and instant messaging or emailing
- having people help you with problems
- helping others with their problems
- reading other people posts even when they don't directly relate to you
- getting ideas for pieces, books, recordings, other websites.  ie searching for information, either just browsing or by looking for specific information
     - Use the search tool
- "bs" posting -- Even good ideas come up from posting what I consider very trivial things sometimes.  It keeps people coming back and sometimes accidently running into or posting the "good" pf info.  Follow the drama of pf members lives.  oooo!
- check the forum stats
- check the most recent posts
    - or search for the posts from a set time period (like 1 or 2 days), use a period "." as the search term
- check on the posts of a certain member.  See what that person is up to if their interests are similar to yours, or if they're new
- checkout profiles
- Bob's Big Brother secret...... hehehehe...... This is the scary one.
- Save your own copy of the pf site threads https://pianoforum.net/smf/index.php/topic,5780.0.html
- You could "recycle" someone else's question, like from another music forum.

Are there any other ways to use the site or to get the most out of having communication with other pianists?
