The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

What do you think are the three nominees for the hardest Chopin piece ???

I mean including everything, the Ballades, Polonaises, Etudes, Scherzos .........etc.

Winterwind....... a fugue?

How so?

Anyway, I'd put Sonata no 2 as a contender.

To play it up to a speed that sounds good, the Scherzo no 1.  (Jablonski, Yundi Li)

Hmmm choice no 3 would be that 4th ballade.

I originally included the concertos, but I said the hell with it, I'll do solo piano.

Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante, Op. 22.

And also the 2nd Sonata.
Fortune favours the musical.
