Liszt: Soneto del Petrarca 123
Brahms: Intermezzo Op 118-2

Guys: I need your expert opinions.  Which one is more difficult? Why?

Thanks in advance

THey are both technically rated ARCT in Canada, but for ARCT you also have to play 118-1 (nice contrast)

This would lead me to believe that the liszt is more difficult...

Although I hope that noone underestimates the 118,
it is easy to play this song sloppily...but it only really sounds good when played well.

In my opinion the Intermezzo is more difficult to play but the Soneto is more difficult to learn.
The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.

I agree with presto, the intermezzo is certainly more difficult to get the interpretation right, and make very note count, at least thats what I think.  Brahms really composed a great piece, and it is hard to do it justice.
