Hi, im having a problem getting one certain bar up to speed and the fingering that i have used feels awkward. the problem is with the LH in bar 67 coming down from the G. going up in that bar is fine, but it feels so awkward coming down that i cant get it to work. it is an awkward set of notes. the fingering im using for that whole bar is:

5(1) 3 2 1, 432, 12, 312, 312

I have long fingers and this combination just isn't working. Can anyone share that they use or suggest a better one for me? i have to get this up to speed in a few days because i need to play it at a competition on the 25th and hopefully at a concert a few days before that.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

that's odd. the going up part works nicely, but the going down is horrible even when playing that strip of notes on its own separate hands without the ascending part. i tried the fingering suggested in another score which is 1234123 for the descending part. that works better, so im using this until someone suggests something better.

EDIT: actually, the 312 312 works nice when at a medium or slow pace and feels quite nice too, but when playing fast it is very awkward and not the typical awkwardness just from speeding up.

I have bar 67 as the arpegio yeh? I'm g
uessing you mean the bar before. I finger the whole bar..... 4/2 on the Eb and then.........13213212312312 I think. That works fine for me. Hope that helps. Did you mean 66? Just my bar 67 has no G, and the bar in 66 does, and I had trouble with that bar.

yea, i think you have found the right spot. basically, it's where the two left hand runs are and i have trouble with the descent of the 2nd. thanks for sharing your finger pattern, but its the 312 312 on the last two triplets that i have problems with (that was the fingering i was already using). it is either fingers too long, or i have major problems with my thumb. my thumb hasnt got the thumb-under action, but i just dont see that fingering working out for me even if i practice it hard.  i think i might work with 12, 341, 234  from the G down to the G for now.

thanks for the help,

Gruff

I've played this before.  The fingering I used for that measure is as follows:

(2)132 132 12 341 234
(4)
