Private messages should NOT count towards the "One post every 60 seconds" rule, which is already painfully annoying as it is.  I'm about to just start up an account called soliloquy2- then I can post every 30 seconds.

Does this site really need such a rule. Have people abused the site by posting too fast and to what purpose?

I think it's to protect against spam.  Perhaps the members here do not abuse posting priveleges, but I suppose that all sorts of other evil things might happen without the rule.  But I hate the rule enough such that I'd be willing to risk it.
