Debussy Piano Rolls
on: October 08, 2008, 04:45:39 PM
Hi, i've been trying to find out which pieces debussy himself recorded onto a piano roll but keep getting confilicting information on the internet, so i'd be really grateful if someone could just give me a list of all the things he recorded, which have survived to the present day.
Thanks alot,
Peter.

this is the recording i own (look at track listing):
https://www.amazon.com/Claude-Debussy-Composer-as-Pianist/dp/B00005IC03

there is another CD you can get that has other stuff on it... i forget exactly what but Poissons d'or and Clair de lune are on it. but these are not Debussy, they are his students as far as i know.

if you listen to that CD (the one with Debussy's rolls and the non Debussy rolls), you can tell which are Debussy and which are not. well i can tell anyway.

Thanks for your reply. I have since found a CD for sale (link below) which says all the tracks on it are recordings of Debussy's piano rolls, but I don't know how reliable it is.
