Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges. Right hand repertoire
on: February 24, 2012, 02:04:47 AM
Left hand piano repertoire I have heard, popularised by the pianist who lost his arm in WW1 and subsequently commisioned works for the left ahnd alone. And there was also Godowsky. But right hand piano pieces I have never heard of. Has anyone heard of any piano pieces for the right hand only?
It seems that the left hand is more prone to injury than the right hand....

There's a joke there somewhere, but I'm not touching it.  ::)

Seriously, there's a pretty long list on this site:

There's quite a bit - seems to have been a fashion at some stage.

How about the Bach Sonatas and Partitas for Unaccompanied Violin? They should work just fine as written. I used the Cello Suites as LH pieces when my RH was injured.
