Anybody ever heard of pianist Horatio Guiterrez?
on: February 23, 2005, 04:50:37 PM
Has anyone heard of pianist Horatio Guiterrez?  Is he good?  A friend emailed me and said she was going to see him perform Prokofiev's (sp?) 3rd Piano Concerto.  I wrote back and told her I love Prokofiev's 3rd, and that I'm not familiar with Mr. Guiterrez, but I would post here and ask the others.  So.....anyone familiar with him?

Horatio is a fantastic pianist.  I have heard him many times, especially in concertos with the Detroit Symphony.

I'm from Detroit.  Do you go to see the DSO often?

I have just recently seen him perform Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1. I thought he was excellent, so I was a bit surprised that he doesn't seem to enjoy the status that he apparently deserves.
