Audition Room: Bach P&F c minor BK I by pianogeek_cz
Please try not to cringe too audibly, the piano is getting tuned soon... ::)
Nah, it's a work edition, especially the fugue.

Recorded on my brand new Zoom H4. (Yay!) Might need turning the volume up a bit.

Constructive criticism is very much welcome.

Hey,

Would anyone mind sharing the fingering they use for the right hand during the Presto?

I have been trying to figure one out myself to no avail.

Thanks.
Student's Corner: Synchronizing Hands in Bach -- e.g. WTC BK I prelude No. 2 c minor by glk
Hi:

Based on a thoughtful comment I received in the Audition Room -- see http://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,21317.0.html
I'd appreciate suggestions for improving the synchronization of my hands in playing
intricate or symmetrical passage work.  My own thought has been to
practice slowly, with different rhythms, and then with metronome at increasing speed.
I also try HS, especially if I can tell which hand is lagging and needs to be solidified.

Suggestions for a more efficient or alternative approach?  Thanks.

Hi all,

I am playing the Fugue in C Minor (three voices), Book 1, WTC.  Are there any tips for bringing out the middle voice?  This is often played with the top voice in the right hand and it gets lost in my playing...

Thanks,
atticus

Hello all!
I just recorded this piece.
Let me know what you think about it please.
What could I change or improve (I'm sure there's enough  ;D).
Thanks,
bye!

(I forgot to say: I recorded with my SilentSystem piano, that's why it is this perfectly tuned)
Student's Corner: Bach Fugue In C Minor - Things To Know For Exam? by fuel925
In November I will be taking the Grade 8 exam. One of the pieces I am learning for this exam is Bach's Fugue In C Minor from Book 1 of the WTC. What things do you think I need to know about this piece, in the event the examiner asks me questions about it? Remember its Grade 8, not Diploma level so I don't need to go to a really technical level. Any tips would be helpful.

PS. I already know about the analysis at this site: http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~tas3/wtc.html but I think it is too in-depth for this grade, and I don't really understand what it's harping on about anyway!
Student's Corner: Fingering: Fugue #1 in CM from WTC Book 1, Pedal in coda by mound
How does one maintain the C pedal point in the coda of this fugue while still playing tenor voice? My teacher is away for a few weeks, otherwise I'd ask him :)

thanks

I'd really like to learn this piece, but I dont want to rush into things when im really not sure on the fingering. I don't want to have to wait til my next lesson to ask my teacher, so if anyone knows any good fingering techniques for this piece, please let me know :)
Repertoire: J.S. Bach's Prelude in C Minor from Well Tempered Clavier, Book 1 by Nicko124
Hello Everyone

I am asking for help and serious advice regarding this piece, i haven't started learning it yet. I am not sure whether to undertake it or not. I have only heard it from the recording link below:

http://www.carlhu.com/music/BachPrelude.mp3

I am a grade 7 pianist but i have learned works above grade 8 if Un Sospiro is above grade 8.
I therefore know that learning this piece would be achievable, however i have a concert in about a month and a half. I would like to add this piece in but i am not sure how difficult this piece is.
I am also finishing other pieces for the concert and so if i learn it now i will be multi tasking with the other two pieces i am finishing.

Anyway i would be greatful if someone could tell me the difficulty of the piece, if anyone has studied it than could you tell me advice regarding learning it.
Finally i would apreciate advice on whether i should learn it considering the fact that i have other things to finish before the concert.
I wouldn't want to start this piece and realise it's dragging me down to much and have to stop it.

Student's Corner: Tackling Bach Prelude and Fugue in C minor 847 by rlefebvr
Go figure....trying to pick up some rock and roll and after a month of frustration, my teacher decides my left hand is week and needs work. Got just the thing for you. Yeah, right. Said it would be worth 3 years of practice. I said yes, but it will take me 5 to learn it all if at all. Anyway I lost and here I am.

Just looking for some general feedback on what to look for and what not to do. Whether to learn one or both at the same time, any special fingering or anything that becomes obvious once you've learned it, but is not transparent starting out.

At least the piece rocks.
