Okay... I'm just having a little trouble with the 14th variation of Book 1... In particular, this part of it:
Mainly getting from one position properly without over-stepping or under-stepping... and trying to get it to speed is really f#cking crucifying me. Are there any little methods that anyone can think of that might be able to help me for this variation??? I would be damn, bloody grateful.

First and Second Variation from Brahms - Paganini Variations op. 35 Book I.
How do you play the parralel sixths in the left hand? Legato (fingers 1-4 to 2-5) or separate (1-4 1-5)? If I play them legato I am affraid of injuring my hand, but it sounds much better. What do you think?

just a simple question. how do you guys play the first variation. do you jump those small steps or do you play them 2 .5., 1.5., 2.5., 1.5, do you dont have to jump. get what i mean? how did you master this section?

Finally done learning the notes for the brahms variations on a theme by paganini, both books... Almost the whole thing is up to the speed now..., several barriers though...
two variations that i cannot overcome, please help
first... book 1 variations 8... can anybody actually play this at performance tempo?? it would seem to me that there's NO time to aim for the octave... for other pieces with lots octaves we can just follow our senses of where the keys are which most of us can do very well, but this is beyond that speed such that there is no time to "sense"... obviously i only have time to take care of one side and one side only, would you suggest the left or right...
second... book 2 variation 7... well, in the large picture it's a simple 3-to-4... but with the music written like that.... i'm overwhelmed... HELP...
