Hello, I'm working on this piece for a long time. I can play it, but not well. The notes are not clear. I tried everything I can. Some parts I think I managed to overcome. But som parts are still preatty bad. I'd like to share my experiences with you, and to have your impressions too.
For example, the first part of the piece (A) I think the best way to study is to play very lightly the notes. I used to practice it almost without making any sound. I also like to play some parts of it with flat fingers, specialy the descending notes. This way I can make every note sound clear.
The second part (B) I can't play in a decent way. Do you have any suggestion? I tried to study it slowly and articulating the fingers, but it didn't work well.
The third part (A') is not much different from the first (A).
The coda is not very difficult. I found usefull to study it slowly and articulating the fingers. |
My first posted recording... It's not all that good, and the quality of the recording is lacking (I just used a half-working computer mic)
The song isn't perfect and the dynamics were difficult to achieve with the mic I used...
Anyway I'm doing a Spanish project on Chopin and I just needed to record something quick and I figured I might as well post it here since I made it...
Any thoughts/criticisms welcome

Hi all,
I'm curious to know why is this Etude called Revolutionary. Not that I play it, but I'd like to someday, and one thing I like is to know something about a piece before I learn it. Unfortunately I never find enough information in the net about the pieces I want, so I simply decided to ask here.

got up in the morning, went straight to the piano, and recorded it ! forgive my dishevelled looks and a couple of broken strings on the treble! http://rapidshare.de/files/20067767/etudf.WMV.html |
| what would you rate Etude No. 12 in C Minor "Revolutionary," Op. 10 by chopin as, from scale 1-10 in difficulty? |
| For some reason i still find this Etude very difficult to play , so lots of wrong notes and well you know. :'( |
Just a quick question: Do you use any pedal in this study?
All the performances I have heard seem to forego pedal. |
hi, i'm new to the forum.
but for my first post, i'd like to ask for some advice on how to approach the Revolutionary Etude. i have some difficulty gaining the evenness in the left hand. my arms also tends to tense a lot when playing this piece at full speed, and i'd finish much more tired than i would like to be.
also, could someone enlighten me as to how one is supposed to pedal the arpeggio section on the 2nd page? it seems to fast for someone to pedal on the beats, in order to make the sound not mushy.
any other advice on the piece would be helpful.
thanks in advance. |
I am playing la campanella and revolutionary study. Can any experts give me some advice on how to play it properly?
Thanks
