From the same concert as Diabolic Suggestion, hope to hear some comments from you.
p.s. This recording is made 21 day after I started to work on this etude, so don't be so rigid about it. ;D
Thank you, Ante |
It's still a work in progress (sorta), I am just putting the final touches on it.

It's almost note perfect (a few minor slips) but the tonal quality and cleanliness of the sound is due mainly to the poor recording quality -- it was recorded off my cousin's cell phone. The dynamics are also kind of messed up by it, but it is still listenable. =P
Any comments, praise or criticism, would be very much appreciated =)
PS: I have already recieved comments on a few beats that I skipped and I have dealt with those.
Thanks to all who watch =)

Another Recording of my practice ... perhaps it's too fast ?... Any comments/ advice welcome
Regards, Faj
P.S : same with my other recording, I'm using Handycam's mic (monitor out go into P.C). Seems it couldn't capture the sustaining tone/ reverb of ther room clearly. Sorry for that ...

My teacher said I could pick between Liszt's Un Sospiro, or Chopin's op. 25, no. 1
Voting time! (Note, one does not know how to make a poll sadly, but please vote anyway!) |
I am currently practicing chopin 25 1 now, but i wonder how to make it work without creating tension. I've sitten and playing it and memorized it, and i practice each hand separatly as always. Slowly it's ok, but when i try to get each hand up to speed I don't have the time to relax until the next time each finger plays, but i do my best. Right now my arms are acheing and i dont now how to practice in order to avoid it. My dream is to play la campanella and all the chopin etudes, but it all seems so hopeless... Is there a possibility you think, or is there something wrong with my hands? seriously all hands must be different. I've played op 10 nr 9, rach prelude in c minor, and passepied of debussy. Those are the two most technically demanding pieces i've played so far. Ecactly what am i supposed to do to get it up to speed? I've been working on 25 1 for a couple of weeks. Hope u know what I should do. Take care! |
Ok i hope this works, the etude is playd twice once from the middle and the second time from the begining to the end.
( Please avoid listining to this Etude its dreadfull , thanks ) |
Dear Friends,
just a discussion here. I just learn CHopin etudes op25 no1 a few months ago. with a new teacher. at first i treat this piece as a technical piece, with certain technique requirement. After practice a few motnhs, i discover that my touch become wamrer and rounder, and of course deeper. In the process of learning, my teacher stress on the wrist relaxation. She didn't tell me the result of practice this piece, but since then..wow~ :oreally amazing. My question is, doeas this piece actualy composed to deepen the touch of someone..or?is this because of the approach of my teacher? The result is obvious, almost everyone notice the changes of my touch recently. I mean, maybe my question is a bit silly, but really like to know the reality behind it.After all this etude is not a magic..

Hi, among several other pieces, I'm currently learning Op. 25/No. 1 as an introduction to a twenty minutes long programme for the entry exam of our local conservatory. While the basical arm movement for the accompaniment notes works quite well, I still struggle with bringing the melody out as smooth as possible.
There are melody notes that are about an octave higher than the rest which require fast jumps back to the chord notes. I achieved the ability to hit them blindly at moderade speed by practising those measures with closed eyes. Though I hit them, they sound harsh and hammered as I can't stay at all on the upper (melody) key. It's a similar problem to Liszt's Liebestraum where the melody gets loud (E major was it, I think)...
does anybody have any advice on how to work on that matter? As this etude is widely considered as one of the easier ones, I have some hope of just having missed the right technique.. (currently, I'm doing a workaround and just play this note groups a bit rubato but it's still not satisfying..) |
